Cacao Cake with Guava Dulce

Cacao ceremonies are celebrated all over the world, dating back to ancient cultures such as the Aztecs and Mayans. This cacao cake harnesses the power of this superfood ingredient, unlike a regular brownie packed with unhealthful sweeteners and fats. Andie adds roasted chili and cinnamon to this easy cake recipe to create a sophisticated flavor along with synergistic weight loss benefits.

Cacao Cake Ingredients:

  • 1 chili pepper, roasted and crumbled into powder
  • 1 cup of raw cacao
  • 3 cups of organic flour
  • 1 ½ cup of organic coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp of Himalayan salt
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • ½ tsp of baking powder
  • ½ tsp of baking soda
  • 3 large organic eggs
  • 1 tsp of organic vanilla
  • 1 cup of organic milk (either from a cow, goat or hemp plant)
  • ⅓ cup of cannabis-infused coconut oil
  • 1 tsp of mushroom powder  (Optional superfood supplement such as Lion’s Mane for focus, memory and nerve health)

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a 9×9 brownie tray or muffin pan. Mix all dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Make a well in the middle and add all wet ingredients, then beat until well combined. Pour into greased baking tray or muffin pan. Tap to let out air bubbles. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Guava Dulce Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of guava
  • 1 cup of coconut sugar

Cover guava and sugar in filtered water in a medium sized pot. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer until soft. Puree mixture in a food processor or blender before straining through a colander for a smooth paste.

Serve cacao cake with a dollop of organic greek yogurt, guava dulce and sprinkles of cacao nibs.
